i dreamt i was watching (and possibly simultaneously participating in) an x-files movie. parts of it where in black and white, and parts of it were being watched on a bus (or a movie theatre made to look like a bus) with different scenes playing in different windows. the plot basically involved a group of middle-aged vacationers in this cross between some sort of "lost world" and a giant coal-mine. a battle broke out with a group of mercenaries for hire, and mulder took off in one of those coal carts that run along railroad tracks, kinda indiana jones-like. he came out on an elevated track above a canal and there were stop signs and then a dead end, and he said something like "so how the hell do i stop this thing?" and then was flung over the front and into the canal as it came to a crashing stop. there was a chinese ferry passing by and after some witty repartee, they agreed to let him on board where he dried out and fixed his watch. meanwhile, at the lost world coal mine, the middle-aged vacationers had apparently beaten the trained guns for hire and were standing around smoldering fires, and there was an allusion made to ritual cannibalism.

later some politician, david duchovny, and jackie chan were on either a congressional or hollywood panel.

i've felt terribly cooped up this week. and it's not even the rain or the cold of the fact that i've only left my apartment two or three times. or maybe it is all those things.

i heard second hand trough daniel that discovernet has given us another week for this ip switchover. he said "so we should make the most of it." and i said "ie: put it off until next thursday. spend this week writing and drawing and making music. or getting really drunk and blacking it all out. or taking off for mexico. or checking into an institution. or possibly, all of the above." would cure my cabin fever anyway.
