another lousy night of sleep last night. i think i had a bit of a fever. didn't get to sleep until after three. but i didn't have to get up terribly early this morning, so it was okay. tomorrow's gonna be tight though.
but back to today for the moment. was supposed to have a quiz in guitar today. notes on the staff, their names, their position on the guitar. conceptually i've got the whole guitar thing down. no problem. but class was canceled, so that didn't happen. i decided that it was actually kinda fortunate, 'cause it gave me a chance to go over my lines for acting a few more times. and in the midst of doing that, i realized i hadn't done the character analysis that i was s'posed to turn in along with performing the scene. unfortunately the instructions for it were in the textbook that i had left at home.
so i called george, but he was watching the simpsons and futurama which i had taped last night, and apparently had the tv turned up so loud he didn't hear the phone. so i went to the library to see if they had a copy of our textbook. no luck. i did eventually run into someone in my class, and borrowed his book, so that turned out all good.
the scene went okay. i completely spaced on one line and had to jump ahead to my next line. john was early on one line and ended up repeating it. we both messed up the phrasing on a number of other lines. and our planned blocking was a bit off. but we managed to keep character for the most part, and it all worked out pretty well. we've got another go at it on friday, for the scene showcase to which the general public is invited.
i stopped by a comic book store to pick up the new cerebus and a new stray bullets was out too, and i also ended up buying the very large (and expensive) hardcover cages graphic novel by dave mckean. now i'm really done spending money on books. and on anything else, except food.
