i sorta half woke up in the middle of the night to the feeling of incredibly strong winds blowing down the length of my bed at me. in retrospect i'm sure it was something of a semi-conscious dream state. there was a mouse running around chewing on something. i think it was actually real.
towards the morning i had a real dream involving wind and other elemental forces. i was an fbi agent assigned to investigate a death on a giant cruise ship. the owner of the ship seemed surprised that the fbi was getting involved, but i told him it was protocol, as the crime took place outside of any state jurisdiction.
as i got deeper and deeper into the plot and intrigue, i realized that the ship's owner had a weather machine/doomsday device. i found a book that included the plans for it, but it was also a transponder that was placed to direct the effects of the machine.
i had worked out an elaborate scheme to get hold of the book, but the owner engaged me in a conversation, and when i returned the book was gone. so i figured he knew that i was on to him.
this morning i had the urge to write letters. actual physical letters. by hand. and never use email again. but of course i didn't, and the desire has faded. and email's just so damn convenient.
went down to the bank to try to clear up a problem with my account. i had transfered money from my savings to my checking so that i'd be able to afford to get home from austin. in iowa or some such, i tried to buy gas with my check card and it came back declined. i spend the last of my cash and hoped it was a temporary glitch and would be cleared up by the next stop. no such luck. at this point i was a bit worried about how i'd make it home. checked my balance at an atm machine to find out the transfer hadn't gone trough. so when i got back, i had over $100 of overdraft charges on my account. and i had lost the transfer receipt in my whole packing process, so i had no real way of proving that i had done it. bleh.
sat around in my back yard and played guitar. broke a string. it was time for new strings anyway, but now i can't really play until i get some.
the second half of the season finale of buffy wasn't on tonight "because of recent school tragedies" or some such, and will "be aired at a later date." not that i'm unsympathetic about kids being killed, but excuse me? how reactionary can we get? buffy is complete escapism. it's fantasy. vampires and demons. i was looking forward to that show all week.
didn't hear from er!n today. but she said today or tomorrow. definitely looking forward to seeing her though.
