magicbeans. nothing if not awkward.

so getting almost eight eight hours of sleep last night was really nice. although the phone woke me up at 230, it was some girl looking for mike. earlier in the day there had been a message on my machine for mike too. even though my outgoing message clearly states my name. odd.

we had a quiz in materials and methods this morning. i did the worst that i've done on any of the quizzes so far. and one of the mistakes was just 'cause i circled the wrong answer. stupid.

and then in modern architecture we had a review for the midterm, which is monday. now, i've been to every lecture, and done all the reading, and i was sitting there thinking "what the hell are they talking about?" apparently from their scattered and disjointed lectures, and the scattered and disjointed readings, we're s'posed to have been drawing connections and knowing who influenced whom, and what styles grew out of what other styles. yep.

and i spent the afternoon and evening working on my drawing model. my fluorescent lower case b. but it's looking more like a p or a d. and so i sat and tried to figure out how to work backwards to get it to end up where i wanted it, but didn't really want to do all the drawing over again. so i'm just going to leave it like it is and finish it tomorrow. bummer.

the first pic at the left is from a piece of blue diffraction foil that i picked up in the studio today. the second is a detail of alex.h's gouache project from the summer. uncanny.
