i was dreaming about a television sitcom last night. lots of sexual innuendo. and actually a lot of just flat out talk about sex. and then i was in the office where it took place and the police were arresting people and they wanted to handcuff me for "suspicion of stealing a pencil and a candle" and i argued and argued about it. eventually they got me in handcuffs and lead me out of the building.
outside the police were distracted and i squeezed me hands out of the cuffs and took off with a few other people. i had a recollection of running from the police just in the past few days as well. i was looking for a tree to climb and hide out in, but they were hot on my trail. one cop was threatening to shoot me. i ducked into the woods but a bounty hunter caught up with me. i told him that all this was over a suspected pencil and candle robbery, and he agreed that it was silly but said he still had to bring me in.
he had an old school bus with a souped up engine, and i tried to get on his good side by flattering him about his mechanical choices, even though i had no idea what he was talking about. he still wouldn't let me go. we started driving but were on this street where they were doing construction and we were running down orange cones and getting hopelessly lost.
then we were out in the middle of these overgrown fields and there were all these rivers between us and where we were supposed to be. and they had bridges going over them that all looked they had been destroyed in some sort of apocalypse. and there was a little kid with us (sam as a baby, maybe).
we started trying to cross one of the bridges, but the bus wasn't going to make it, so we had to crawl back across this narrow girder. the kid went first, and fell off, so i jumped in the water to save him, first handing my jacket and snowboarding mittens and something else to the bounty hunter. and after i swam to the shore he threw all my stuff in the water after me.
watched the movie double dragon after getting up. despite the fact that it is of that genre of super-cheesy martial arts movies, based on a video game no less, it had some surprisingly redeeming features. i actually found myself wanting to know more of the specific details about the world it was set in (los angeles 2007, post-quake).
then cut sam's hair. he convinced me to give him a mohawk. left the hair on the sides short, not totally shaved off, and it actually looks pretty good. he spiked it up with glue and then ran off with his snowboard to show off. you'll have to wait for tomorrow for the pic, i already had today's done. and i took a lot of photos too, so there will be some of those eventually.
watched part of an updated tempest of ifc about an architect on a greek isle. then love and human remains. which i had been meaning to catch for a while. i can't help thinking that the play would be a little better. not that the movie was bad, but parts that seemed clichéd on film sometimes come across better on stage.
