dreamt that sam and i had to go to sears, so we went to some mall with our dad and one of his friends (ron from austin, maybe). we didn't want to wander around in the mall, so we entered from what was labeled as a sears entrance. but there was an incomplete stairwell there and we had to climb up on these precariously balanced chairs and couches that looked like dorm furniture. we got to the third floor, and entered the store there, but it wasn't sears. and it was going out of business anyway. they told us that sears was down the other end of the mall.
and so we set off down the mall. there were lots of stairs and escalators and such, i don't remember too many stores. we passed a few people milling around. and at the other end, there was another stairwell like the first. the piles of precariously stacked stuff weren't quite the same, but i had a sense of deja vu about it, as if we had just come in a circle. and sure enough, at the third floor..
we went back down to the second floor, and on the other side of the stairwell (or was it a hall at this point?) there was a door into an office/apartment were there was a girl who may have been a sci-fi alien (she was very pale, and her skin was somewhat scaly) who was suffering from some sort of disease that was related to moths. but there was also a butterfly flying around the room, and i thought it must have some mystical significance.
the package waiting for me in the mailroom turned out to be five packages. two books and a cd that i had ordered online. and two separate books from er!n. (today's pic was drawn on one of the boxes. the other had a picture that chris.k thought was "almost excessively cute". hearts and shoelaces.) one was a two volume architecture book that she brought back from italy for me. some pretty neat stuff in there. and the other was a children's book, the boy who ate words, a very sweet story.
i also sat in the bank for two hours today, trying to finally clear up this reserve credit problem that i've had for months. and of course the first day that i have some time and am in providence, is the day when all the new brown students are setting up new accounts. talked with a brown freshman for a while. still didn't totally clear up the problem, but made some steps towards doing so.
