sonali and i haven't really spoken since she came to visit six months ago. basically i just act all stupid whenever she's around, and then don't know exactly what to do about it for a while.
but it's been plenty long enough to forget about that, and today's her birthday. so happy birthday. i hope that some day we have something that more closely approximates a normal relationship.
i remembered my dreams really clearly when i got up this morning. and thought about them quite a bit. but by the time i had left the house i had totally forgotten everything except one little scene where i had parked my van on the street and gotten a parking ticket. i was a little miffed because i had never seen a parking ticket on east street. and then even more upset when i saw that the ticket was for $83.
architecture department convocation this morning. basically just welcome to a new year, and all that. then the mad rush to see what studios everyone got. i got my first choice, marginal conditions: housing on the edge. and i snagged a really nice space in the studio. the teacher seems pretty cool. we got a first assignment (each of the housing studios is starting with three one-week projects), to design a laundromat for next thursday.
