i suppose i should write something just so the august calendar comes up as the front page of my site. i've been putting pictures up every day, might as well let people see them.

so lets see, what's happened in my life since last i wrote?

went home for a couple of days to clear up some banking issues. spent a week or so sitting around. took a bartending class. got back in touch with bret, who came down to visit for an afternoon. went home again for my mom's birthday, to discuss daniel and jeanette's wedding, and to serve jury duty.

the jury duty didn't happen. i guess there's not that much crime in litchfield county that they need to seat juries for.

the bartending class was one of the highlights of my summer. i already have a shoe box full of backup skills (there's computers, of course, and all my time in the risd library probably makes me more than qualified to work in a bookstore) but i figured i could use one more. and bartending's not a bad way to make money. the class was a lot of fun, i probably will look for a bartending job in austin while i search out an architecture firm, and maybe even continue to do it part time once i do.

about six months or so ago i started drinking godfathers. two parts scotch, one part amaretto, on the rocks. a godmother is vodka and amaretto. in my bartending class i was introduced to creme de noyaux, an almond flavoured (like amaretto) liqueur, but pink coloured. used in girly pink drinks, of course. and i thought, 'why not use creme de noyaux instead of amaretto, and call them a fairy godmother, and even better, fairy godfather?'
