Brunch at Life. Chris got a call from Julia. 'Brendan is in town,' he says. 'You know Brendan don't you? Big, gay Brendan?'
'Yeah, I know Brendan. I've had sex in his bed.'
'Really.'
'That first summer that Stef and I were together, she stayed with them. And sort of got bounced from room to room depending on who was around.'
After brunch we met up with Julia and Brendan. Walked Brendan's friend Amanda's dog. Chris rode off to work, we walked to Julia's apartment in Fort Greene.
Talked, read artist's books. 'It's too bad Jess lives in Providence,' Julia said. 'She's lonely too. I think you'd like eachother.'
'Her books are cute.' And with that, my current three-day crush is someone who I've very likely never even met. Although I suppose it's possible that we had a class together at some point. Her books are really cool though. Out of Julia's collection they were the ones that I was feeling most inspired by, before Julia said anything.
Brendan went to dinner with his sister and step-mom. Julia and Jon (her boyfriend) and I had pasta. Played Scrabble. Watched a few episodes of The Office.
I walked home after dark. Got a little lost, overshot, had to backtrack a handful of blocks. But despite that little hiccup, it was a nice day. It's nice to hang out with people.
