I had brunch at Life with Marie. That's two out of three roommates. I don't think Rob with ever come because he doesn't like tofu and that is about the extent of their vegan options. But I mean really, how can you be vegan and not like tofu? (Yes I know, I can hear you saying the same thing about tomatoes.)
We went to look at a duplex apartment on McKibbin. It was a disappointment. While huge, the basement level only had one four-by-four foot window. The others were bricked over, and a street-level doorway had been sealed up (although was possibly re-openable). The upstairs had three rooms built, but the walls were shoddily made, and partly torn down. The kitchen and bathroom were dirty, although that wasn't as much of a concern, I'd assume it would be cleaned before new tenants moved in.
It was definitely a fixer-upper. And while that interested me, it turned Marie off. I guess that sort of makes clear that although I feel like I'm at the same place in my own life that I was ten years ago, I'm at a very different point than my roommates are.
I went into work for a few hours this afternoon. While I like the people I work with, and the energy they give off, it was also nice being in the office virtually alone.
And from there, the end of the summer barbecue at Adam.K's house. I brought a six-pack of beer, of which I drank five. Plus a handful of their Bud. Plus a swig of scotch. I got drunk. I ate fire. I headed home much too late on a work night.
