Moving Day.
11 December 2004
Brunch by myself at Life. Waitress Molly was filling in for another shift. Learned that what she is teaching is tenth grade English. When I briefly thought about teaching, years ago, that is exactly what I used to say I'd want to teach. My own tenth grade English teacher, Nick Fleck, was a big influence on me, and one of the people who encouraged me to think about writing as a career path instead of math and science.
More cleaning and packing. And into Manhattan to meet Ellen, pick up her car, and drive back out to Brooklyn for my stuff.
A car load of things. Pretty much everything that I own in the city fits into one car load. Then the FDR to the Harlem River Drive to Inwood.
Three trips up to the third floor. And I'm here. This is my apartment. I live here now.
