Throwing off the curve.

Mother's Day. Another commercialised holiday to boost the sales of greeting cards and flowers, but the sentiment, to give your mom a call and thank for doing a decent job of bringing you up (assuming that she did, in fact, do so), is completely worthwhile. My mom did a decent job of bringing me up, so I called her this afternoon and chatted for a bit. (Aaron and Sam, both living in closer proximity, were taking her out for a fancy dinner.) No real family news except that two of my cousins are graduating from college this month, overachievers, the first two in our generation to finish in four straight years. The four eldest of us took considerably longer, the next is still at it, and Sam, the same age as the two graduating, has yet to start.
