All about inertia.

So I'm not sure whose bright idea it was to stay up until 5:00AM. Oh, wait. It was mine. Although using the word "idea" is probably too generous in terms of forethought. It just sort of happened. Of the mornings that it's a vaguely okay thing to see the sunrise, Monday is generally not one of them. But I sat on my roof for a while. Took photos. Then somewhat inexplicably found a stale baguette, which I tossed across the street.
Then bed for a handful of hours as the sunlight made its way into the windows. It had been my intended day to get back on the track of a normalish sleep schedule. But alas.
In spite of the fact that today might prove to be the hottest day of the year (tomorrow is also in the running and we've still got August), there was soccer on Roosevelt Island again. And due to the relatively sparse turnout, we played without goalies, and I was actually able to run around for a bit without my lungs ceasing up and my heart feeling as if it were going to explode. In other words, last week's tiny amount of exercise helped me perform a tiny bit better this week. I think that's what is commonly referred to as "getting in shape".
Odds of actually keeping it up? Pretty poor. Wasn't I supposed to clean my apartment at the beginning of the summer and start spending a half hour every morning writing or drawing or do something creative?
