whole bunch of dreams from last night:
george and i were driving cross-country in a car like er!n's, a suzuki or samuri or tracker. we we're stopped at a rest stop (which was more of a scaled down, gothic castle) when out of nowhere this huge thunderstorm came through.
then we were at a movie theatre what was set up in lots of tents scattered around a field, like some sort of fair. i tried and tried, but couldn't figure out what was playing where, and lost track of george, and eventually gave up on the whole thing.
there was a brief interlude where i was at a water park, and sliding down one of those huge water-slides into a pool at the bottom. which after a few runs became a bathtub, and i thought that was rather dangerous.
and then i was in the desert. it was sorta like a sci-fi-esque television show (like x-files or buffy or something). i was with someone and there was another group of two or three people and we had gotten separated, and the walkie-talkies or cellphones or whatever didn't work. eventually we came to this chain-link fence that stretched as far as we could see and decided we had to turn back. somehow we ended up in this maze of fences, the realm of some demon, and there were dead bodies of people and occasionally horses strung up. at one point i caught sight of this demon, and i figured that was it, game over, but for some reason it didn't take us. we met up with the other group and found this teleportaion gate that lead to a bookstore. i was one of the last ones through, and some of the people i was with were asleep on the other side. when they woke up they didn't remember anything, and it was too disturbing for me to tell them about. but i did browse through the books on the wall that we came through, and there was a bunch of interesting things about faeries and magic.
the final scene was apparently at this summer's fmf/luf conclave. there was this hotel up on a hill, but the scale shrunk down and it was just balconies of upper floors overlooking a courtyard-like area. the conclave t-shirt seemed to be bright green, as that was the colour that lots of people were wearing. there was an opening meal, and one group of people was sitting way up on an upper floor, and there were others scattered around the courtyard area. i was trying to figure out what was or could be made vegan on the menu. at one point the waitress (who was very helpful) asked me something in chinese, and i responded in kind. she wasn't chinese, which made it odd. there was a section that i thought was fresh-fruit smoothies, but it turned out to be soups. some of them still sounded good though, and so i said if they are vegan, i'll have one.
