in the morning we critiqued our books. they were all really good. i think it was a great assignment because it was so open ended. everyone at risd is going to be very talented, and so when free to choose their own direction, will produce very impressive work.
in the afternoon we began the critique of our final drawing project. i hadn't looked at any of the drawings that i had done until i took them out to hang them. i ended up hanging 32, some of which i really liked, even some of the ones from the first session in the basement.
there was a lot of good work for this project too. although there was a strict limitation in materials used, the only guideline was do a series of drawings employing what you've learned this semester. which most people did pretty well with. there were a number of drawings that i would have been happy to frame and hang in my home.
and then for phase three i worked on my chair until one in the morning, once again being the last person to leave the studio.
