i got almost no sleep last night. tossing and turning and all that. but i did get out of bed early this morning anyway. 745. eek.
spent most of the morning working on my new site design, which is about half up as i type this (one pm). the words and pix pages are still in the old format. then cam may or may not be revamped when i get settled in at risd. there's currently no listing of the journal archives.
but, there's a new (and thoroughly exciting) front page. as you can see, there's a new journal format. to the left you'll see some pictures and a greater than/less than pair. some entries have their own pix (which are sometimes links). if an entry doesn't, a couple of shots are randomly selected from the beancam archives and cropped. the gt/lt are previous/next links. yes, there's finally a next link.
bellow that (on only the most recent journal entry), it says "opgs" with another gt/lt pair. this is the open pages webring. i've been in the ring forever, but it's been hidden under the address now.html, which was basically identical to the old front page but with the ring code. while redesigning i figured it's not really hurting anything over there.
everything seems to work, but if you find something broken, please be so kind as to let me know.
spent the rest of the afternoon alternating between packing and reformatting old journal entries to fit the new format. the ones with pictures, or long strings of text, or whatnot. there's still a few old ones that will look funny. but i'll prolly get around to them eventually.
my new alarm clock came this afternoon. just in time. still haven't gotten my six dozen guitar picks that will last for the rest of my life though.
