after the movie last night (which ended about two) i stayed up for another hour and a half or so, which was kinda stupid. i woke up at 830 this morning feeling rested, but i knew if i got up i'd be wiped out by mid-afternoon, so i went back to bed. i got up around ten, and kinda milled about my room for an hour or so before going to get breakfast.
after eating, i got some stuff together, and rode my bike up to the stupid bus shelter (that's what i'm going to call it from now on, the stupid bus shelter). i took some b&w photographs, took a few more measurements, did some more sketches.
the bike ride was terribly exhausting, since i haven't done any riding since i was here in july (and that was only twice). after recuperating a bit i rode down to the beb, stopping at bread and circus (although all i could think of to pick up was a cold drink and a new tube of toothpaste).
i spent the afternoon in the studio working on sketches and reading about the eiffel tower. on my way back to campus for dinner i took a detour to check out the other structure that i was considering for drawing class, a parking lot kiosk. that's definitely the one i should've picked. instead of the stupid bus shelter. bummer.
after dinner i played some multi-player james bond with kris and alex and alex's roommates. then went up to kinko's to make some enlargements of a couple of photos of sam and aaron to hang up in my studio space. i think this will be the first time i've had any sort of family pictures up since i was at nmh.
and then more architecture reading, in the library and back in my room. i've definitely gained a greater respect/interest for masonry construction through my materials and methods class. while i was out riding around today i found myself looking at all the brick and stone buildings and checking out the type of construction and making mental notes for possible future designs of my own.
i found a rose on the sidewalk that had been stepped on and kinda flattened on my way back from the library. i'm not sure what the significance of that is, but i stuck it in some water in a grapefruit juice bottle.
