in my mailbox at lunchtime i found my first work-study paycheck. a whopping $23.60 since i only worked one day last month. and it'll be mostly gone tomorrow, as i've got to buy some vellum for my drawing class. but it was something of a sense of accomplishment to get a check in the mail.

over lunch i had a conversation with jen and leo about relationships. they're both of the mind to completely immerse themselves in work and not get distracted by such things (the fact that they both have had recent distractions of such a nature is probably a factor here). personally, i think it's about the low-maintenance relationship, without all the worrying about all the stupid little things that one tends to worry about, if such a thing is possible.

other than lunch, i was in the studio from eight in the morning until 630. and by the time i left, it felt as if i had spent a week there, and it must be friday afternoon. not in a bad way though, i really felt like i was accomplishing something today.

we had little group-crits of our latex membrane project, and i think mine had reached a pretty good place. although i did have to basically dismantle it before the crit so that i could thoroughly analyze it. and we got our material for the next part of the project, a lycra sort of fabric.

after dinner i went back to the studio, and did a few drawings, but became less and less focused. and left about ten in order to come home, relax a bit, and get a really good night's sleep. although by this point it's already going to be less than eight hours. so goodnight, goodnight.
