so.
it's friday night. i'm sitting around in my room. i could be in the studio. i could be sleeping. i could be up on thayer or out looking for people i know. but i'm not. i could even be updating the words and pix sections of my site. but i'm not doing that either.
just feeling kinda lonely and apathetic and they're feeding each other.
i did, as promised, scan in some photos. the pix are links to the un-cropped versions. the first is actually a painting that i did over the summer of congdon lounge, that is bright red and neon green in real life, but it looks nice in b&w. the second and third are from the mass building / cutting / reassembling project. the last two are of my latex construction.
but now i'm feeling antsy. i think i might just have to go out.
so i painted. an abstract dealy with red sharpie, wet charcoal, and the aforementioned neon green oil paint. i think i'm going to do a series. one a day for a while.
and then i went for a walk. but it turned into an adventure. i'm still not sure of the geography of the whole thing, but i walked a hell of a long way. across a huge bridge. ended up in industrial east providence. crossed another pretty big bridge. and then back down towards risd. i'm going to try to find a map and trace my route.
i stopped on thayer to pick up some food (all that walking made me hungry), and saw that the midnight show at the avon was mystery men, which i had wanted to see. and it was five of. so i did that instead.
i wasn't aware until the end credits that it was based on a comic by bob burden, of flaming carrot fame. which explains a lot really; flaming carrot was at times terribly funny, and at times really, really bad. mystery men was on par. but it had tom waits in it. and that just makes it all worth it.
and then when i got back to my building, i reached into my pocket for my keys, and realized that i had taken them out after i did the charcoal part of my painting, and had never put them back in my pocket 'cause my hands were covered in charcoal. so i had to go to public safety to get a spare set. the first and hopefully last time.
