magicbeans. nothing if not awkward.

my mom had a mini-reunion with some of her college friends today. and that was half-way to providence, so i went with her, and then from there on to risd.

i did some sketches today. both for materials and methods and design principles.

didn't eat much though. got to risd about five, had to be in the library at six. so i didn't really have time to go anywhere for food, 'cept for the met, and i still have a hard time paying cash at the met. so i kinda skipped dinner.

continued sketching in the library. jen came in looking for beach pictures. she actually ended up using the same aerial photo that i'm using, that's really of a salt flat in death valley. but we're both kinda pretending it's water. i had a hard time getting back to work after she left.

looked up hot springs on the web for ideas. there's some neat ones in japan. but i feel like this is stuff i should've done a week ago. and that i should actually have a model at this point. but, that's what tomorrow afternoon is for.

and in other news, moby was in town tonight. but i couldn't find anyone to cover my library shift. bummer.
