christmas makes me feel a little uneasy and somewhat guilty. for participating in a religious observance of a religion that i don't subscribe to. for brushing aside my own belief system. for not not really having a belief system. most of the year i'm okay with that though.
anyway, we had a fairly low-key xmas morning. definitely not the big production numbers i remember from my childhood. and then early afternoon we went out for one of those extended family get-togethers. waffles and silly conversation. that was good.
watched lost highway on ifc later. i had never gotten around to seeing it when it came out. although i missed what i figure was a very pivotal scene when the phone rang. i was completely lost for most of the second half of the film.
