magicbeans. nothing if not awkward.

the phone woke me up at six. i was amazed by how loud the ringer seemed. it was nikki, and although i was far less than talkative (still being half asleep), she didn't hang up this time. and i did my best to talk for a bit.

worked an extra shift in the library this morning. continued reading elfquest.

called my mom to ask for money. that was definitely the worst bit of my day. she answered the phone, happy to hear from me, but as soon as i brought up money, her spirits dropped. it was a tangible feeling, even over the phone. i hate asking for money. i hate even talking about money. left a bad taste in my mouth for hours.

well, for half an hour anyway, at which point i found myself at my local branch office of sovereign bank new england, which was just three days ago a local branch of bankboston. bankboston was forced by the justice department to sell off all their non-commercial checking and savings accounts when they merged with fleet, or something like that, and so we're now embroiled in the middle of bureaucratic changeover.

long story short, my accounts are all tangled up, and their computers don't really work yet, and even with money now in my salisbury bank account at home, it's completely up in the air as to whether i can straighten out my accounts here (i had crossed over into the reserve credit portion of my account just prior to the changeover, and it has lead to all sorts of problems).

finally got around to working on my cairo maps this evening. i was the only person on the third floor of the beb. there were a few other people around the building though, so i wasn't the only person slaving away in the middle of spring break. worked there until about eleven, then home to type up the labels for the maps.
