magicbeans. nothing if not awkward.

dreamt that i was watching either the sci-fi channel or an entertainment tonight-like show. they were filming "from the set of george lucas's new film" but were really off outside the sound stage near the crew catering area or something. they were showing video clips of up and coming artists and included one by me. my short was very artsy but in the middle there was a scene featuring ll cool j. then i found myself on the set where they were filming this tv show, although it was conflated with both the beb and my mom's living room. and now george lucas was there and was interviewing me, but he was completely in shadows and i was very uncomfortable answering his questions and felt like i was giving a class presentation.

when i actually got my stuff up on the wall for my crit it didn't seem as bad as i had thought. my drawings (while still not showing much more than the space) looked nice in ink on trace, and one of the critics made the point that my duct tape and chipboard models were "artsy". and while it had seemed last night as if everyone else had much more than i did, in terms of both representation and design, i'm actually not all that much behind anyone else in the studio.
