an unconventional wednesday art history field trip this morning. a bernini tour of rome with peter rockwell. relatively abridged, of course, you could spend a lot more than a morning visiting and talking about bernini sculpture and architecture. having worked on restorations of a number of the pieces that he talked about, he had a lot of interesting anecdotes and inside information. plus a vast knowledge of general roman trivia.
