the asteroid hermes, one of the largest near-earth asteroids (and also the name i've used for email addresses since 1993), discovered in 1937 and then promptly lost, has been rediscovered, found to in actuality be two asteroids, and will be at it's closest to earth of this orbit (about 18 times as far as the moon) today.
