it sort of felt like a weird day in the office. due, largely i'm sure, to the fact that i spent a lot of it outside of the office. searching bookstores all over town for design reference in the morning, and delivering a presentation board to to erik before a meeting at pfizer in the afternoon. and standing in the cold waiting for him. thinking, 'sure, why send a courier when you could pay the intern a quarter as much to do the same thing.' while i was waiting though, jessica.s, who was a grad student in the architecture department at risd while i was there, came out of the building with two people from the architecture firm she's working for. we were in a few classes together but i didn't know her all that well. had no idea she was in new york. i wonder who will pop up next.
on thursdays after work a bunch of the kids from the office (the twenty-somethings for the most part) go out for drinks. so i tagged along. a bar in the village. i had fun. got to know some of my co-workers a little better. got a bit drunk. smoked my first cigarette in over a year. as it's thursday night, things wrapped up pretty early. so it was home to pass out before midnight for the first time in months.
