I went into the office this morning to drop of my final internship timesheet from last week. Stepping out of the subway, a block and a half away, my phone rings. 'Hello, it's Beatrice. I'm wondering what your availability is today.'
'Don't necessarily get used to a two minute turn around time on calling me in to work,' I said when I got there. But I was certainly grateful that there was stuff for me to do.
And later, Burritoville, the rush hour LIRR to Hicksville, the Ikea customer service, and lamps to hang from the tracks in our apartment to make the space feel more inviting.
This morning's sunny, warm, beautiful day turned overcast, then misty, then downright cold during my trip home.
