Today was three or four days long. At least.

I was at work in the morning, but there wasn't enough to keep me busy all day. Around 2.30 I headed down to Union Square where I had overheard Chris and Erika making plans to meet up. Of course I was drunk at the time, and wasn't completely sure that they had agreed on 3 o'clock.

Erika did show up. But Chris never did. It's a good thing that I was there, as she's just visiting and although probably could have figured out something else to do with her time, would have been at slightly more of a disadvantage to do so. We waited an hour, stopped for a bagel, then headed out to Brooklyn.

Chris called as we got off the train. And came by after a little while.

It was Marie's birthday today, and Rob's on Sunday, so sushi night was vaguely birthday themed.

There wasn't enough sushi to go around. Erika left with a migraine. Chris headed out to Astoria. And eventually the party moved up to the roof. We found Marie up there. In something of a repeat of my birthday party, none of her friends had shown showed up. Dan, Rob, and I did our best to cheer her up.

Around 1.45 I left for a party at Robin's. As seems to be the typical order of things at Robin's parties, there were quite a few cute, drunk girls, but by the time I am drunk enough to get over my shyness they've mostly either left or fallen asleep, and I hang around with the stragglers until well after then sun comes up.

Just after I got there I met one girl who was talking a mile a minute (drug induced) and didn't notice how quiet I was, but when she asked me if Jessica (from Puerto Rico), who came over and sat down next to me, arm around my shoulder, to say hi, and then got up to pass out on the couch across the room, was my girlfriend, and I said no (and actually I've really only met her once before), I don't think she believed me.

There was a girl who walked past on the roof, wearing some perfume that tugged on me the way it does in cartoons. (I know I've talked about how perfume does not have that sort of effect on me.) But then left, maybe with the bank-teller looking guy who lives in my neighborhood.

And two other girls, one talking about her boyfriend, but the other who seemed single, who disappeared when Thibault and some heavily tattooed boy started comparing their asses.

Back downstairs, after one more beer, I faded in and out of consciousness as Robin watched the movie Goodburger.
