Having gotten Sunday out of the way yesterday, today was opened up for other things. After sleeping late and holding onto my dreams for as long as possible, I went into the office for a little while, and then met my mom and brothers who took the train into the city to see Democracy Plaza.
I showed them around. We discussed the project. It's fun showing off what I am doing with my life. I actually have a real job, probably my first real real job, and here's this neighborhood-scale installation to prove it. Of course I'd rather be able to invite family and friends to the premiere of a movie that I had designed than to a corporate sponsored 'conversation on citizenship', but it's a start.
And this is official notice to anyone else who reads this and will/can be in the New York metropolitan area in the next few weeks. Let me know. I'll show you the plaza too. Plus, the more often I'm there, the more likely I am to run into Claire. (Yes I know, I'm getting a little carried away.)
Although, speaking of girls, I've been doing that crush on a complete stranger for a few hours every day thing for the last couple of days. This afternoon, on the way to a late lunch at Angelica Kitchen with the family, a girl sat next to me on the L. I didn't get a good look at her until I was getting up to leave the train. Purple coat. Glasses. (I'm still a sucker for girls with glasses.) I'm not sure I could even describe her any further, except to say that she was cute. Or even recognize her if I saw her again.
Later, at home, craigslist apartment hunting and procrastinating from the work that I was supposed to be doing this weekend.
