Shower Curtain.

At PDG today, doing actual work, after sorting out some problems with available computers, Alex.K comes over and asks if I'm interested in/available to do some outside freelance work, technical drafting, Illustrator and AutoCAD, for a friend of his that does interior design and architectural detailing. And this is the type of connection that makes the freelance lifestyle work. I've certainly been realizing lately that I need to look for other jobs, even if they're just intermittent, to fill in the gaps when PDG doesn't have the work to offer me. And it looked like I'd free up mid-afternoon. That I'd probably have a half day tomorrow. 'They work pretty late into the evening over there,' Alex tells me. But, once I did free up, once I did call this guy back, it seemed as if they might be burnt out for the day. He told me he give me a call back in a few minutes after he surveyed the office, but either didn't, or did but my phone didn't ring, as it's sometimes wont to do when it's too far from the windows and and signal strength at work. Either way, since he didn't leave a message if he did call, it amounted to the same thing. And my introversion, even in the face of possible work, at a point when I need it most, got the better of me, and I didn't call him back again, just to check in, ask if maybe they still needed a hand, or might tomorrow, or over the weekend. Of course, as is it, I am booked for twenty hours on a Bank of America project with PDG, and then another project coming up early next week. So things will be okay. It's still going to be tight, but I think I'll be able to pay my bills. But I do have to wonder if I'm cut out for the networking necessary to make freelancing (or independent art, design, movies, music) work.
Kmart for a shower curtain for my new apartment. I had tried Crate & Barrel yesterday, but the mid-town store, at least, didn't have a bathroom accessories section. I bought towels too, even though I do already own a couple. As yesterday, I resisted buying dishes, pots and pans, pillows, rugs.
