Brunch at Kate's and then a whole bunch of walking which eventually lead up 9th Avenue and near my office, so a stop there for a bit. Julia called and was headed to the opener of PS.1's Summer music series, so Chris and I headed out to Queens. What Julia failed to tell us was that because she's a Long Island City resident she got to wait in the VIP line and got in right away, whereas we would have had to wait in the regular line, which was at least a few hundred people long. 'Do you think there's any hipsters left in Williamsburg?' Chris asked.

So instead we walked back across the Queensborough Bridge, stopping briefly over Roosevelt Island to watch a soccer game, into Manhattan and towards the park. 'I need a strawberry shortcake ice cream,' Chris said.

'I need to sit down and take my shoes off.' Through the park and up to the Sheep's Meadow, where after a bit Julia, Matt.L, and Edie met us.

We sat around for a bit, shoes off, and then headed back out of the park in search of food, stopping at the first sushi place which we came to, of which I was skeptical, and in a bit of complaining mood due to sore feet and hunger, but which turned out to be surprisingly good.

Edie disappeared for Brooklyn, Matt and Julia left for Queens, and Chris and I waited to hear from Dave.Z about a party at Nadav and Gisel's new place in Williamsburg. More walking. Eventually down 14th Street, around in a circle, and one round of drinks in a bar before Dave calls with location.

In Brooklyn, with nothing more than the cross-streets, we wait around until some RISD kids walk by and find the party. The apartment is the sort of place that I used to dream about living in. Double-height, lofty, but still cozy and with trees out the window.

Saw some kids I hadn't seen in a while. Had a good time. And didn't mind too much about the long ride home.
