Stating the obvious.
9 September 2005
Marie and Rob had an end of summer/beginning of the school year party at the place in Bay Ridge tonight. Like their last party, I wasn't the only older person there, but for the most part it was kids in their early 20s, mainly NYU students.
Still, I was one of the first people to arrive, and one of the last to leave. And for my $5 donation to the plastic frog bank, I drank my fair share, eight or nine bottles of beer, but still succeeded in barely getting drunk. Not that this is news to anyone, but it's amazing how much of a difference there is in the effects of a similar amount of alcohol when imbibed after a good-sized meal verses on an empty stomach.
