Non-standard commute.
21 December 2005
I did go into work today. I spent part of all the free time that I had yesterday figuring out how to do that without the subway. The easiest way that I could come up with was to walk down 207th Street to the bridge into the Bronx. Directly on the other side of the bridge is the University Heights station on the MetroNorth Hudson Line. That train would take me into Grand Central, and then I could walk from there I could walk the dozen or so blocks to the office. A train ride on par with my normal commute, plus a blustery 15-20 minute walk on either end, was too terribly bad an alternative.
As it happened though, the office was relatively quiet, and I didn't really have a whole lot to do. But, I think it's always good to get oneself out of the house.
