So guess who didn't get into grad school? And of course I'll never know exactly why. If I had to guess? I'd say it's because my application, like everything I've ever done in my life, was rushed and half-assed. The elementary school report card comments of 'does not fulfill his potential' are just as accurate 20+ years later. Do I think I'd be a good grad student at Columbia? Yes. Do I think I'd be an asset to their program? Yes. Did I display this? Obviously not. But, was I right below the cut or much further down the list? I'll never know.

I made a few phone calls. Drank a bottle of wine. Went to bed.
