Imaging junkie.

I bought an iSight. You knew it was only a matter of time. It's amazing that I've held out this long, I haven't been able to use my old black and white QuickCam since I upgraded from my G3 to my TiBook and no longer had an old-school Mac serial port to plug it into. It cuts a step out of transferring photos via my camera's SD card or over Bluetooth from my phone. Not that I think it will significantly cut down on the number of photos that I take with my camera or cameraphone. For one the iSight's cable is only about 6' long.
To go along with it, I couldn't resist running down a pirated copy of Apple's Photo Booth app. It's a silly little piece of software, but fun. As far as I know it only works with iSights, but Apple, for whatever reason, only bundles it with the new iMacs and MacBooks which have built-in cameras. Not with the external iSight. Not available as a download. Not even for sale. It's a little baffling. It's not as if it's a feature that will convince someone to choose an iMac over a quad-G5 tower, or upgrade from the iBook that they only bought six months ago.
And speaking of things Apple, their new 24 hour store in midtown opened tonight. If I wasn't quite the recluse that I am, and had gone out tonight, I might have stopped by to check it out. And probably would have seen a line to get in, and turned around and left, even if they were giving away a new MacBook every hour for the first day. The odds will probably be best around 4AM, but even if I am still up at that point, it's unlikely that I'll head out.
