I was told there'd be cake.
8 November 2010
Or at least a view.
Finally, this morning, into the new studio space. Myrtle Hall, 5W10. The view is panoramic, just not terribly iconic. The room is also a bit smaller than expected, but my first studio-mate moved out for different digs within a few hours. If someone else ends up in the space, preferably it'll be someone who does most of their work at home or in the field or in one of the labs. And who won't mind if I make a mess of their half of the space.
I'm not complaining mind you. (I wish the windows opened. That's my complaint.) I'm super excited to be in the space, and have light and speedy-ish internet, and to be a two minute walk from my house. There's a good chance I'll be encamped in this room for the next year and a half (and possibly a little more).
Most of today was unpacking. Plugging in. Setting up. Tomorrow more stuff from home. I'll need to get a cabinet or shelves of some sort. Put some colour up on the walls.
And I do actually have some cake.
