from email to george:
i just dream about architecture for the most part. even in my more surreal dreams, such as the storm shelter/mysterious canadian capital city dream form the other night, i still spend a lot of my time noticing the architecture.
i think i always did though. i just didn't have the language to talk about it. i remember waking from sleep years before i decided to come back to school to study architecture, and looking for a pen and paper, not so that i could write down the dream, but so i could try and draw the floor plan of the building it took place in.
my studio project is going very well. have i said that? i just have to keep up the momentum for the final week. there's a few design issues, stairs and doors mostly, but pretty much it's down to final documentation. i had been waffling between cad drawings and hand drawings, and so to this point everything's been on yellow trace. i think i'm going to do them by hand. i want to spend as little time in the cad lab as i possibly can.
and that pretty much sums up my motel project as well.
garth: aaarh. you just had to take a picture of me doing this. [balancing his checkbook, i don't think i've written a thing in mine in five years.]
me: i have more pictures of chis on my site than pictures of you.
