structures mid-term. when i first looked at the test my mind went sort of blank. but once i acclimated myself it turned out to be pretty easy. david.t checked my answers against his as i handed it in and it looked like he was writing "100" at the top of my test.
home for lunch, and then i was off to boston again. to eero saarinen's mit chapel with my team for electric, lighting, and acoustics. we picked teams and case study buildings on monday. i hesitated until a team picked me (sarah.m, sarah.w, keith, and kate.b) and i don't think they got their first choice building, but it was mine.
i had never been inside the chapel before. i had been outside it once before. i know it was with bret. it might have been last february or it might have been before i was even at risd. i remember it was cold, maybe raining, and i wasn't paying much attention to the architecture.
i like the chapel. it's a really nice little building. especially when we turned all the lights off (we are studying the lighting design, and were the only people there) and experienced it in the natural light that filters through the skylight above the alter and up through hidden windows along the walls.
took a whole bunch of photos.
we got a snack, then headed back to providence. tried to study italian verbs after dinner. got distracted by tv.
