so today was pretty odd. snet turned off the last of lakeville internet's phones this morning, and li.com has yet to get any of its own. so our office is currently off-line. i went in for a couple hours anyway, to sort out a few things, but the amount of stuff we can do without the net connection is pretty limited. so i came home and did some work from here. i also was bidding on two rack-mount ibm servers on onsale, since turnip could be repo'ed any day now. i knew that my credit card would be declined, and figured we'd have a couple of days to find a replacement. and so after the auction ends, i get email saying we need a new card in the next 14 mins. they didn't actually say 14 mins, but that was the amount of time between the email and when they said my order would be automatically canceled. it took 21 mins to get another card, which is still quite impressive, if i do say so. but there was a note on the status page that said it was waiting manual review. so i went back into li to play some foursquare (sam came along and played for the first time). i managed to injure myself again; i got caught up in my silly pants and basically threw myself at the concrete. ouch. then sam and i went out to eat, came back, watched yesterday's simpsons, and checked on the status of the servers again (they are sending them, yay), and now have some more work to do. mindless cut and paste stuff. woo hoo.

i'm up late working again. and i really hate doing this. my two term windows are titled "work just sucks" and "i just wanna go to bed now". the fortune cookie login message that i got on the second one was: "The biggest mistake you can make is to believe that you are working for someone else." that's so appropriate on so many levels.
