first day of classes as an architecture student.

i have materials and methods three days a week at eight. the met doesn't open until 730. that's a couple minutes to get food. fifteen or twenty to eat. and then the long hike down to the architecture building.

it's basically a big lecture class with all the first year architecture, landscape, and interior students. and then modern architecture. another big lecture class. but about cool buildings.

after classes (my classes end at 1110 on monday and wednesday), i went to the risd store to buy my textbooks (about $300 worth for two classes, ouch) and pick up my b&w film. i got some cool pix of skaters at the gravity games. and had some pictures dating as far back as texas that hadn't been developed.

i stopped by the nature lab, to check in as a prospective work-study candidate, but didn't make a firm commitment either way.

then lunch. and then i went down to the financial aid office to prove my citizenship for work-study tax purposes. while there noticed an off-campus job opening at the providence athenaeum. since working in the library had been my first choice, i figured i'd look into it. and off-campus jobs pay more. so i walked up there and filled out an application.

i retroactively added some pix to back journal entries. mostly gridcosm stuff. then watched clue as it had to be back tonight.

did some reading for materials and methods. and then called george this evening. talked for a while about all sorts of things. then did some more reading. and i'm getting to bed before midnight.
