i woke up a few minutes before my alarm this morning, feeling completely rested. the time change really agreed with me. it's not like i got an extra hour of sleep or anything. but getting up at a different time (even if it was still the same time) was good. i did briefly panic that i had slept an hour too long, but i quickly realized that i was okay.
the mid-term went pretty well. i kinda had to guess at a couple of things, but for the most part i was pretty well off. the "list six things you would do to test soil before building a foundation" was a little tough. my sixth answer was "hire a certified soil shaman".
after lunch i stopped by my room 'cause i knew that there was something important that i wanted to pick up, but had no idea what it was. so i called my mom. i feel kinda bad about calling home and asking for money. i've been self-sufficient to a greater or lesser degree for the last five years. so it's tough. it was nice to talk to my mom though.
i still couldn't remember what i had come to get, so i decided to play guitar for a bit, and in picking up my guitar i noticed my wintersession registration form. which is what i was after in the first place. it doesn't have to be turned in until friday, and sophomores get the last pick anyway, but i figured i should turn it in before i forget. which you know i would.
and then i headed back to the studio to try and brainstorm a "vessel for light and water". no real luck. and then dinner. and then the library. found another japanese architect who's work i like, kiyoshi sey takeyama. brainstormed some more about my vessel. realized that i'm spending way too much energy thinking about relationships.
