so my crit was the first one this morning, at 930. got up at seven as usual. took a long shower. got breakfast. then went to the copy center to make copies of my statement. the woman who was s'posed to open at 830 didn't get there until 845. and i still had my section to draw.
finally got the copies made. headed for the studio. had about twenty minutes to do my drawing. looked lousy, but it was something.
i don't remember how my crit went. i don't think it was great. but not bad either. i'm not sure all the critics liked the way my vessel just kinda spilled water out all over the floor. i kinda like it, especially the fact that it takes a couple of minutes for the water to seep through the layers of copper and out the hole in the front.
i did my best to stay awake for the rest of the crits. had a clementine and a tangerine, and the act of peeling and eating a citrus fruit really keeps you awake. of course as soon as it's gone you start falling asleep again.
after the crits, we got the assignment for the fourth and final project. it's an actual building. showers, toilets, and changing rooms for a site near water. not a specific site, we get to create that too. i'm really psyched about this project. my mind's already bubbling with ideas.
after dinner i stopped by my room to pick up some more layers of clothes (it's getting cold). and tried to upload the pix of the last few days for my site, and found that i couldn't reach it over the web. i think that my main domain (xochipilli.com was put on hold for non-payment, and it messed up the dns of all my other domains. so if you've had problems getting to my site, or had email bounce back from me, that's prolly why. should be fixed soon though.
picked up my guitar on my way out, and played for five minutes. i completely just wanted to stay in my room and play all evening. like tuesday when a friend of peter's, who studied painting here at risd, came in and talked about her work, and i completely wanted to go buy some canvases. just don't have the time for other artistic pursuits right now.
we built the "air-lock" for our pneumatic structure tonight. it's not really an air-lock, just a few flaps of plastic. but time was winding down, and we had to build something. and a real airlock requires a fairly complicated framework, of which there's none of in our structures.
and drawing homework which i just kinda ignored. i have a rectangular box in perspective for one of my three drawings. (each one's s'posed to be a rough version of the building in it's context from a different viewpoint.) i'll prolly do some more work on it tomorrow morning. at least i think i understand the method.
oh, and i almost forgot: i found out at dinner that my meal plan is s'posedly gone. in nine weeks. that's nice.
