i'm tempted to say that nothing happened today. but i guess that's just the urge to get into my warm bed and hide from the cold talking. although it certainly wasn't an eventful day.

at 330 in the morning i was woken up to the sound of metal scraping against asphalt. apparently risd physical plant decided that this was a good time to "shovel" the quarter inch of snow that had accumulated in the courtyard over the course of yesterday. i felt like sticking my head out the window and yelling "what the fuck do you think yr doing?" and once they had finished with the courtyard, they started driving their little tractor plows around on the other side of the building. i wanted to throw things at them.

woke up with a start a few hours later (it was light this time) when the wind shook my windows so hard that i thought it was someone knocking on my door. and then again a few more times over the course of the morning. until i finally got up around ten.

at lunch alex.h was talking about going to see some movie tonight.

i sat in the met at dinner for about 2.5 hours. by myself for the first half hour (and i basically finished eating at that point). and then with a pretty steady stream of people: garth, luke, leo, chris, amie, jen, molly, kris, ian. and they eventually all filtered away, until it was chris and i, seeing who would get up and leave first.

talked briefly with alex.s on fruit about jen. and heard back from sonali, also on the subject. it's nice to actually be able to talk with people about all the stuff that's bubbling around inside and get some feedback. i've sorta been feeling the need to do so over the last week or so.

never heard from alex.h about the movie plans, so i decided on brazil at the auditorium. jen had said at dinner that she was going, but didn't show. no chris or kris either. there were a few people i knew there. jenny, who hasn't really spoken to me since that party, with a new haircut/colour, she almost half said hello. garth was there, with vegan microwave popcorn.

and it was much too cold walking home. gusty. wind-chill well below freezing, i'm sure.
