i've been feeling sick every morning when i get up. once again i didn't stop for a bagel on the way into work.
spent a good part of today frustrated with the fact that i get kicked around to whatever computer doesn't happen to have any freelancer working on it, and today was without a machine that had photoshop.
people from work went out to reservoir for drinks again tonight. so it does happen on thursdays, but not necessarily every one. i wasn't sure if i could go. sonali was going to try and get on an earlier flight. but i hadn't heard from her, and so i decided to go, have a few beers, and hope she got in touch when she landed and didn't just make her way to my house.
i had three or four beers. found myself in a conversation with a girl named leah from the jack morton side of the office. sonali text messaged when she landed. 'do you want to come out for a drink?' i messaged back. 'or get some food, which is easier to do in manhattan than near my place.'
she showed up at the bar just as people were leaving. we walked downtown and got some food. veggie chinese. then home. and then life cafe for a few more drinks.
'so what's the sleeping situation?' she asked back home.
'there's the air mattress,' i said. 'or the couch. or my bed. or i suppose you could curl up in the shower if you wanted, but i wouldn't think that would be terribly comfortable.'
'you need to get up for work,' she said, 'i should sleep on the air mattress.' i began separating bedding, it's all been on my bed for the past week. she brushed her teeth. then came back in. 'this is silly, we should just share the bed.'
we stayed up talking for a while, until she drifted off to sleep. it took me a little longer, given the insomnia and all. and the cute girl curled up next to me in my bed.
