Since Olivia didn't get the chance to set me up with Sabrina at her party she invited both of us, and Marie and Emily, and a bunch of other friends to meet her at Foodswings for dinner. I wasn't a big fan of Foodswings when we ordered in, but figured I should go anyway.
And again, the food wasn't great. I guess if you're one of those vegans into the fake meat scene it would be more appealing. But the grilled veggie wrap was basically just vegetables that had been soaked in balsamic vinegar and wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. And probably grilled somewhere along the way. The vegan cheese fries are tasty though.
I talked a little bit with Sabrina, but it wasn't really the sort of situation conducive to meeting someone new. After eating, Olivia wanted to drag everyone along to a party she was going to. Robin had called me earlier in the week to invite me to the party that she was having tonight, and I sort of wanted to just head over there, as it was much closer than going up to Greenpoint and then coming all the way back. Olivia tried to convince Sabrina to go with me, but she was obviously reluctant, not because I'm a horrible person I'm sure, but because it's a weird position to be put in. I felt weird about it too. And so eventually just decided to stick with the group.
I called Robin, 'Actually, a friend of mine is dragging me along to this lesbian birthday party in Greenpoint. But I'm still planning on coming by your place later.'
The lesbian birthday party wasn't bad. I didn't really get the opportunity to talk to Sabrina much more, and did eventually make Marie and Emily depressed with sad tales of my life, after which they soon left. But I drank some cheap beer and Chris eventually showed up and there was a lesbian dressed exactly like Garth.
Chris and I left at 2am and headed to Robin's party. We walked, twenty minutes or so, rather than trying to catch a G train. On the way in the door someone told us that it was a 'pants optional' party. 'I'm not sure you really want to be saying that to Chris,' I told them. He ended up keeping his pants on.
We had some moore beer. Met some of the kids there. After a bit some guy walked through. 'That guy went to RISD,' Chris said. 'His name's either Joey.B or Joey.D.'
And a little later a girl named Red came up to me and asked, 'You guys went to RISD, right?' We talked for a bit.
There were two other girls who I sort of had an eye on, but other than a brief exchange with the taller one about finding 15 cents on the floor, I didn't really get the chance/have the nerve to talk to them. There was a girl who was drawing on people with a green Sharpie (My left forearm had a gun and said 'P.S. I'm hardcore..') who wrote 'Hottest girl in Brooklyn', with flames, on the shorter one's arm. And I may have been blinded by her sparkly eyeshadow, or the buzz I was feeling by this point, but I was ready to believe it. They did eventually leave though, and I kept drinking.
In fact, I kept drinking until 730 in the morning. And then with the handful of other stragglers crashed for a few hours on one of the couches in Robin's living room.
