First snow.
19 December 2004
Three weeks in a row, Sunday brunch with Ellen. 'You're really a brunch person, aren't you?' she asked me.
'Yes. Yes I am.' Kate's again. Although I would really like to try brunch at Candle 79 one of these weeks. Expensive probably, but given that it's one of my favourite vegan restaurants in New York (or anywhere), probably very good too.
We walked back up through the East Village. Ellen did some Christmas shopping, I tagged along.
Stopped by Digital Society to see about getting another new charger for fragola. My brand new one just quit working, and while it's still under warranty and I plan to get it replaced, I don't really have the luxury of time to wait for that, and figured it probably wouldn't hurt to have a backup anyway. DigSoc is not open on Sundays however, and so I popped into the Radio Shack around the corner before heading all the way down to the Apple store, and was talked into buying a universal charger that was $30 more expensive but will charge my cell phone was well as my laptop.
And then it's dark and raining and we decided to stop and drink a couple beers at Reservoir. And dinner for a second night in a row at the Whole Foods cafe. And then it was snowing. Maybe the second or third snow of the season to fall on New York, but the first that I've seen. Getting off the subway in Inwood there was a dusting covering the cars and sidewalks.
And at home, where I was supposed to be getting a jump on a bank project for work because tomorrow is going to be filled with broadcast stuff, I ended up putting it off, as if it were a homework assignment, and watching a few episodes of Law & Order instead.
