this morning seems like so long ago that i've forgotten it. i do recall that our concrete casting project for materials and methods was pushed back a week though. which is one load off my shoulders. just have to make sure my team gets the framework done this weekend, so it doesn't end up being a load back on my shoulders next week.
ate a quick lunch after my morning classes, and then scraped together all the change i could find in order to buy a roll of film and whatever nifty stuff i could find at the metcalf store. i ended up getting a neon pink/orange plexiglas dowel and a handful of 5/16 inch bolts and nuts.
spent the afternoon playing with those new toys, some sheets of cardboard, and the sheet of latex which is the focus of our current membrane project. i ended up coming up with the concept of this little tree-like column things, but didn't get a chance to test it out as i had to leave for dinner and then work-study.
the library was pretty quiet tonight. since i had finished this whole week's worth of reading last night, i begin reading ahead. and then grabbed the 1998 yearbook issue of the japan architect, which has the year's noteworthy projects in japan as well as results to a couple of yearly contests, and found that one of those contests was won by an architecture professor here at risd.
one of the co-creators of the new design principles curriculum, actually. which i returned to the studio to work some more on after the library closed. i'm not totally happy with my construction, but i did get some neat pictures. and about one am, my latex sheet started ripping from excessive wear, and i figured that rather than destroy it completely, i should get some sleep.
