I've been using what might very well be the least powerful computer in the office. It's better than not having any computer at all. But still, it's slower than my personal computer at home, and has a monitor that is literally being held together with a band-aid. Well, not literally. But it has a Flinstones band-aid ironically stuck over a huge crack in the casing, and it flickers and has terrible colour.

Yesterday it came to my attention that there's a slightly faster machine that no one is using, and it was suggested that I take it over.

So this morning I opened up both machines, switched out the hard drives, evened out the RAM. Noticed that the newer machine has two graphics cards. And remembered that we've got a pile of 13" and 15" monitors in our back room. I started with the smallest, to conserve desk space, and worked my way up until I found one that worked.

So now I've got a secondary pallet monitor (ironically, with better colour than my primary monitor), and a slightly faster machine. I still don't have a whole lot of work to do on it at the moment, but people keep telling me that it's going to pick up at any moment.

Finally picked up the paint for my kitchen this evening.
